Daily Reflections From My Window

December 8, 2021 Wednesday Advent Day 8: Who Watched the People’s Choice Awards?

“The doctor of the future will give no medication but will interest his patients in the care of the human frame, diet and in the cause and prevention of disease”

Thomas A. EdisonThis is a great thought by a very smart guy. I hope it happens. It’s what I’m trying to do. I take a lot of supplements and have acupuncture and lately immunity IVs, and so far so good. It does take time though and changing the way you think-like the food you buy and where you buy it. It’s a whole new way of life and takes a lot of thought. And you hope your spouse is on the same page. Yesterday I had a dr. Appt and was scheduled for acupuncture and an IV treatment. My doc wants me to do them weekly. I know if I did, I’d feel like a new person, but because I’m human, I resist. When I do what they suggest, I feel great. I did both yesterday and decided to try to schedule weekly sessions and did where they could fit me in. Then I spoke to the nutritionist to talk about going forward after my food detox that I shared a while back. That will be interesting and more on that later. After the appointment, I stopped at Sam’s to pick up a few things and found that after really reading the labels and countries of origin, whether things were organic or not, I didn’t want to buy much if anything to put in my family’s bodies. I think grocery shopping is on my list for today. My hooping buddy Lesley shared some fresh ground venison with us and I think I’ll make some tonight. Maybe Chili for a chilly, snowy day. Thanks Lesley!

Last night after hooping, I watched the People’s Choice Awards. I haven’t watched any awards shows forever and boy am I out of touch. Fashion has really changed and so have the shapes of women’s bodies. What was that that Christina Aguilera was wearing? It is interesting how they all just complement each other in their little bubble. There didn’t seem to be anyone in the audience. Jay was watching “The Outlaw Josie Wales”. I think I was watching “the good, the bad, and the ugly” with the peoples choice awards. I turned it off after about 45 minutes and found something else while I knitted.

There are so many good things going on here, let’s do our own People’s Choice Awards. Let’s start with a local family that decorates an antique truck and invites people to take pictures in front of it. It’s so generous and amazing. Here’s a photo that they have on their FB page. I hope they don’t mind that I use it but it’s great and the credit goes to them. They did it for fall too. I think the Galasso family of Westmont should get a local PCA for “Sharing Their Shining Light In the Community” I love this!

On to Advent. The animals are filtering in and today it’s more pugs. A giant one makes his way to our Nativity and a fabric one joins our calendar. We’ll let the church calendar get us back on track.

It snowed a bit overnight but the alpacas don’t mind. Dovis has her coat on. She’s our red spot out there.

I have some things to finish up today so I better get moving.

In the meantime, do something you’ve never done before. Find your passion and explore it. Every single day is a gift. I’m off to tend my passion.

Have a blessed day!
