Daily Reflections From My Window

December 7, 2021 Tuesday, Advent Day 7: A Toast to You!

“Bread, that this house may never know hunger. Salt, that life may always have flavor. And wine, that joy and prosperity may reign forever.”

Housewarming Toast from George Bailey to the Martini’s in “It’s A Wonderful Life”

Good morning! It’s a cold one. Our thermometer says that it’s about 15* and the wind seems to have died down. That’s good because last night it was so windy that we could hear it howling from inside. Makes me wonder if my meager Christmas lights stayed up.I’m excited that it seems like the day will be bright today. Whoever said “Rainy days and Mondays always get me down”, was telling the truth, especially when Monday was the rainy day. I think I need to get my ‘Happy Lamps” out. They are small lights that mimic sunlight. I think they work. Getting outside helps too. Even just for a little while. It helps to just go somewhere or to take a walk on days like that. But that’s behind us for the week and I spent yesterday catching up on projects.

Here are the lights at the bottom of our driveway. I think I may need to add a few more. I got five and put them as high as I could reach. Not sure what happened to my snowman and his spotlight. It was too dark and cold to check last night. That’s a job for today. The weather has been so crazy. Warmer in the morning and then the temps fall and the wind picks up. It’s upside down.

I can’t even show you what I worked on yesterday. Everything was a special order gift that someone is giving someone else. I don’t want to spoil the surprise. Here’s the best I can do. That brings us to Day 7 of Advent. It was such a Monday yesterday that I put the wrong date and day. I changed it and think it stuck. Here’s our Nativity characters for the day. I’ll bet you never thought about the other animals there. Like a white cat (our Clara) and pugs, of course! The sheep couldn’t do all of the work after all. Here’s our Fabric calendar. The camel snuck in. And the church’s.This one keeps me on my toes and makes sure I get the date right.

What’s on your agenda today, I have a doctor’s appointment and a few errands to take care of. Then hula hooping which I need more than you know.

The alpacas look happy that the rain ended. That’s never fun.

That’s Kapi saying good morning to you.

Why did I choose the quotes I did today? The script from “It’s A Wonderful Life”, is so great and I wish that toast to all of my readers. I’m so blessed that you take time from your day to read this. And the scripture? George Bailey is the best example of that. I want to be like him.

In the meantime, do something you’ve never done before. Find your passion and explore it. Every single day is a gift. I’m off to tend my passion.

Have a blessed day!
