Daily Reflections From My Window

November 15, 2021, Monday: First Significant Snow of the Season

“Did you see that there was a nasty winter storm during the football game?

There was a flurry of activity, and then the sleet really hit the fans!”

No alpacas want to be out today! I don’t blame them, but I’ll be out tending them shortly. It’s a day to bundle up. We have a busy day ahead.

We had fun celebrating a special 2 year old’s birthday yesterday and squeezed in some extra visits. Good thing we started early. There’s nothing like being a 2 year old truck, car and tractor loving little boy! Here are the special things we got him from Young Heart Books and Toys. I know you can’t really see them, but it was a tuck that pulled a camper and a boat, and a dimple popper. And an alpaca hat, which he seemed to like! It’s a shame to hide all those curls. He sure has them. His Mom says he calls any vehicles “vroom vrooms”, and he is well supplied now. He’ll be busy for a while with his new fleet of all sizes, shapes, makes and models. After the birthday celebration, we stopped to see an old friend who’d had surgery for a cup of tea, then drove by my old childhood home. The entire area around it has changed, almost beyond recognition, but this little house looks the same, although they removed the bushes that framed the porch and gave privacy. It looks so stark without them. I didn’t have a chance to take a photo of the other homes or I would have. Then off to visit another couple and get in a quarter of the Steeler game. I do like to watch their games. Takes me back to Sunday afternoons as a kid. That was some game too! I hope if you were there, you were bundled up and stayed dry!

Next up, home and thank goodness it was just starting the wintry mix and the roads weren’t too bad.

Jack and Madison came for a visit after a busy day at the shop and we finally got caught up for the week. It’s been a while. It was really nice, and we’re getting together this afternoon again. It will be nice.

It’s time to get the day underway.

In the meantime, do something you’ve never done before. Find your passion and explore it. Every single day is a gift. I’m off to tend my passion.

Have a blessed day!
