“Wishing to be friends is quick work, but friendship is a slow ripening fruit.”

Aristotle

I have a few REALLY good friends. You know who you are! But I want to share with you about my friend Carol. We go way back to grade school in Pgh together, through high school and beyond. We probably met initially because our last names were at the beginning of the alphabet. That’s how they positioned you back in the day. She with a ‘D’ and I with a “G”. I am drawn to people who are fun loving and bigger than life, because I’m innately shy and pretty quiet, before my “Julie Unfiltered,or Unhinged” days as Jay likes to refer to them. She ALWAYS has a smile on her face! She’s ALWAYS sharing joy, and always has.

So when I was having my hair cut and colored (yup!) yesterday and got a text that she would be sweeping through town to celebrate the scholarship that was being given to a student at Bishop McCort in her mother’s honor in addition to them naming the business center for her mom, I did my best to corral the troops to meet my friend, her husband and son. I’d never met her guys, though she had been through here once before. It was great for our sons and husbands to meet too. Wait! Are we seeing double? Look closely. Fans of the same designer.

“Friendship is a single soul dwelling in two bodies.” Another gem by Aristotle.

I hope she doesn’t mind me grabbing her photos, but I took very few! I know, hard to believe. Here’s her son Kevin with her sister at the awards ceremony and her mad selfie skills with the two of us.

I do hope they come back again and stay longer. They still have to meet Madison. She was at the shop and couldn’t break away in time. Next time, though! I have to be short today because we are off to another wedding. It’s a full day event and I still have to tend livestock and get my hair to look like it did yesterday! Lots to do and so little time. I’ll be back to sock prep tomorrow. Luckily I was able to get my fiber order prepped and it’s going out this morning. So many weddings makes me revisit this 1Corinthians 13 chapter. In the meantime, do something you’ve never done before. Find your passion and explore it. Every single day is a gift. I’m off to tend my passion.

Have a blessed day!
