Daily Reflections From My Window

October 19, 2021, Tuesday: Time to Go Home

“We were promised sufferings. They were part of the program. We were even told, ‘Blessed are they that mourn,’ and I accept it. I’ve got nothing that I hadn’t bargained for. Of course it is different when the thing happens to oneself, not to others, and in reality, not imagination.”C.S. Lewis

I always liked C.S. Lewis. He sums things up neatly, as he does in the above quote.

I’m looking at my current situation, thinking how beautiful view is.

Yes, there has been a bit of construction and some noise, but can you see the water? The trees? The morning sky? It’s a pretty special view. Did I tell you the other day that while we were in the ocean, I looked up and saw a cloud, shaped like Italy, boot and all? I know our friend John is here. Edyce shared a story with us yesterday about how when she, Margo and Ali were together with the photographer before the wedding, there was a bottle of red wine and four glasses. She came into the room to find a broken glass on the floor. The other 3 were in tact. No one had touched them. That was John. A Godwink. I’m sure that even the construction that wasn’t supposed to take place now, but suddenly did, is him. Not to disrupt, but to remind. He was a builder, after all and I don’t think that stuff bothered him. So as we prepare to leave this special place, those are my thoughts. We spent a wonderful day with Edyce yesterday and when she gets home, will be there too. It’s a new life for her with lots of new directions. God will be there to quietly guide. We’ll be there to help and support. I love my friend.

If you see her around town, be kind. Well for that matter, be kind, because we’re all going through something.

We’re off for a quick swim and will be home before you know it.

In the meantime, do something you’ve never done before. Find your passion and explore it. Every single day is a gift.

Have a blessed day!
