Daily Reflections From My Window

October 5, 2021 Tuesday: Time to Take a Breath

“Learning is finding out that you already know. Doing is demonstrating that you know it. Teaching is reminding others that they know just as well as you. You are all learners, doers, and teachers.”

Richard Bach

I miss my mom friends. I had a little group of mom buddies and we would go to coffee, or lunch and catch up on the crazy of being Moms. I miss my BM (before married) friends. Since I don’t live where we met anymore, I think they’ve moved on. I miss my phone buddies. Those people I would talk to and brainstorm with on the phone while working or doing things around my house (they were doing the same!). I miss my MacKid friends and the unbelievably creative community of sharing ideas. I miss YOU! Seeing your face, hearing your voice and sharing ideas.

Yesterday my friend Barb, (who fits into many of the above categories) called me out of the blue and it was so good to talk to her! She’s, fun, health conscious, a mom, before-marriage friend and so full of wisdom! She asked me what I was doing. “Oh”, I said, “getting ready for the 3 day show coming up this weekend and I hope I have enough!” To which in her wisdom, she set me straight. “Of course you do! People want to make it themselves. You have all of that fiber and yarn. Didn’t people buy the raw fiber last time? Have some finished pieces, but have things that others can make with your stuff. They want to do that now and you have it and can show them.” She’s right. I always had that approach in the past. Why was I agonizing this time? Probably because I’m so out of practice!

Thank you dear friend-I needed that! I switched up my frame of mind and set to work. I was already dyeing some yarn and making dryer balls, but will continue to dye today. It’s so relaxing and yarn is always needed. Dryer balls are underway and Jay just asked me to make a cheese omelette for him. I do enjoy preparing breakfast for him! I better wrap this up.

But before I do, did you notice that a lot of social platforms were offline yesterday? If you subscribe to this blog, you’ll get it in your inbox and never miss a thing. I only post to social for those who won’t or can’t. It’ll also help me out. In the meantime, remember to wash your hands, don’t touch your face, get outside for some fresh air and keep the length of an alpaca cria (which is a baby alpaca and about 3 feet long) between you and the next person.

Have a blessed day!
