“When I’m not in my right mind, my left mind gets pretty crowded.”

Steven Wright

I always loved humor like this, but I have to admit, it makes me scratch my head and think. More quotes from SW will follow in the coming days. Be warned.

This scripture verse had me scratching my head first thing this morning too. I had to think about it and then refer to a Bible site that explained it. Paul is saying that “we”, AKA followers of Christ’s teachings, take all of the false narratives and things people say that twist the truth and calmly explain if we can, what it really means according to Christ. Of course, they all thought he was a hypocrite because of his past, and spread more false info in an effort to lie about him, but Paul kept his cool and kept doing the work he was born to do. And he did a pretty good job.

Yesterday I was back at the bee cleanup and then used the nice day to clean and I mean really clean, the alpaca barn. Mary called for rain yesterday and in all fairness to her, it did rain very early in the AM. I could see puddles of water on our sidewalk. Nevertheless, I was trying to get it in before more came. It never did.

She’s calling for rain again. Maybe she’s too close to my composter and there’s a lot of moisture in the air. She’s usually more accurate than my weather app. She’s perfectly white when no precipitation is coming but her veil turns pink and her garment turns blue when it’s on the way. Here she is this morning. She usually gives me one less thing to think about, sort of like my navy Sierra Tank Dress. I’m still wearing it and will continue to even though I applied to be an affiliate and they said they couldn’t offer one to me because they were looking for “affiliates who specifically have more brand-specific content creation experience.”

What does that mean? I probably shouldn’t have replied before I went to bed. We’ll see if I get a response. I really love this dress and the fact that it is wool and so versatile is right up my alley. I wore it hooping last night. Down, as a dress, it’s perfect for waist and knee hooping. THESE ARE STILL PHOTOS-THE VIDEO WILL NOT PLAY.

A quick knot in the front or side converts it to a top so that the A-line stays out of the way. Then back down again and we were back to waist hooping. I moved up with Dawn so that the Zoom participants could see it in action.

Then home again to unbox this little beauty. If you read this regularly, then you know that I am in pursuit of the perfect sock with my fiber. I stumbled upon this machine while involved in a circular sock machine group. It’s a CSM made using a 3 D printer. I was on a waiting list for months and late yesterday it came.

I can’t wait to give it a try. It’s a smaller gauge than the ADDI that I use for hats and scarves. That and the yarn content and twist is the key to great socks. Right now, Denise Williams is working on a new batch for me. It’s a different blend than the last group she made for me from yarn I had supplied to her. I asked the mill who spun the yarn to add more nylon for stretch and some merino wool. It’s a 40% alpaca/40% merino/20% nylon blend. It will be machine wash and dry. Here’s a look at what she’s working on. She uses an antique sock machine and does fantastic work. I love working with her. Many hands make light work, and hers are so talented. Can you tell I like purple and am working on a specific look for my brand. Don’t worry, they will come in all colors, but we’re working on the general look. I think being able to experiment on my own will eliminate my guessing and make more efficient use of her precious time. She does so many other things, not just socks. Here’s a link to her YouTube channel. Just a peek into all she does.

I better get to work learning how to use my own. This company (more coming in their own post later) blends high tech with ancient arts and I love it. Nothing like a QR code that leads a new owner to a site where you learn step by step everything from unboxing your machine to making your first sock. You can make anything your imagination can dream up. I better get my left mind uncluttered! By the way, I am a hand knitter and crocheter (?) but sometimes need to step up production. I’m also the IT and SMM (social media manager). I do product design, livestock care, and am the photographer. I’m part of the medical team. I’m the dyer, hand spinner and research person and I love doing it all, but when you love what you do, you’ve got to save time somewhere!

I hope that your minds aren’t too full today and that you are blessed enough to do what God put you on this Earth to do. Don’t listen to the lies of others when you are a follower of Christ’s teachings. It’s amazing what that guy knew and taught and how it still applies. Just watch the news and hear it all. I pray for peace and clarity every day and if the only difference I can make is to be kind to others I’ll try even when it’s hard. Another way to make a difference is to vote. We are so fortunate to live here. I can’t wait to get my Red, White and Blue hula hoop from Dawn. She’s also a custom hoop maker! So enough of me today. I have to get into this box and explore.

Later I need to take a walk. Remember that you can save on the 99 Walks App using my affiliate link. I get a small compensation if you join and you save! We both win and get healthy. “sitting is the new smoking”. Was that from “As Good As It Get’s” with Jack Nicholson? It’s true. #sponsored

In the meantime, remember to wash your hands, don’t touch your face, get outside for some fresh air and keep the length of an alpaca cria (which is a baby alpaca and about 3 feet long) between you and the next person.

Have a blessed day!
