“The three great essentials to achieve anything worthwhile are, first, hard work; second, stick-to-itiveness; third, common sense.”
Thomas A. Edison
Yes, I think Thomas Edison has it down. Look how many times he tried before he succeeded.
That’s like my website. I’m working on it and because I don’t do this kind of thing anymore, it’s a challenge, but a good one.
When I originally built my alpaca site so many years ago, I started from the beginning and it was really easier than trying to go back snd tweak and change things now. It’s a new version, with new gadgets snd widgets. One thing leads to another and by the afternoon, my brain was very tired but in a good way.
I have 2 domains because I originally had one and when I called the support team about 5 years ago for help, the technician convinced me to change it. “Do you know how many times I’ve misspelled it?” He asked. OK, I said, let’s change it from laurelhighlandsalpacas.com to alpacamom.com and that’s how that happened. I chose alpacamom because that was my user name with Macaroni Kid given to me by founder Joyce Shulman-I always loved how she knew all of us. Now I have two domains, but the primary is alpacamom. And that change spilled over to everything else.
Not to belabor the point, but I’m glad it’s raining. I don’t feel so bad being inside when the weather is wet. Once I get this done, hopefully your reader experience will improve with the changes. I’m planning categories and tags to help you navigate posts more efficiently. I’m changing a lot. Trying to streamline but I DO have a lot of content I want to carry over. I’m not changing everything, just trying to pare down the look and adding a few things. Sorry, but purple is still my favorite. I lost yesterday’s post because I reverted to an earlier version so that I could start over and must have set that for right before I posted. If I had changed the time by 5 minutes later, it would still be here. It was a good one too. I better get to work so that I’ll be able to hoop tonight. Check out my strawberries!
In the meantime, remember to wash your hands, don’t touch your face, get outside for some fresh air and keep the length of an alpaca cria (which is a baby alpaca and about 3 feet long) between you and the next person.
Have a blessed day and hopefully this will appear on the homepage! 🤷♀️
