Yesterday turned out to be a wonderful day so what did I do? I got my hair cut and colored-it’s the fiber on my head and caught up with Ivana, who knows just how to handle the little she has to work with. She’s a magician!
I found this gypsy moth caterpillar on the alpaca pasture fence. Ugh. Oh well.
I want the alpacas to be eating the grass in the pasture because this time of year, they shouldn’t have to eat hay. We’ve been planting the type of grass in these fields and just need to be better at rotating. I need to think about temporary fencing.
They must not be afraid anymore of the neighbor’s “dog that doesn’t wander”. They love being out there until they see me and think I’m going to feed them and run back to the barn.
Fiber can wait. This is a weekend to thank those who served and/or gave their lives for our country. No matter what anyone says, we have (all of us as Americans) more freedoms here than anywhere else on Earth. Here’s a little video of our glorious flag on our trip to Savannah a few weeks ago.

In the meantime, remember to wash your hands, don’t touch your face, get outside for some fresh air and keep the length of an alpaca cria (which is a baby alpaca and about 3 feet long) between you and the next person.
