Daily Reflections From My Window

“Appreciation is a wonderful thing. It makes what is excellent in others belong to us as well.”

There is nothing like appreciating someone else’s talent. I found a wonderful partner in fiber artist and sock maker Denise Williams and yesterday, late in the day, the socks she made from my hand dyed, home grown, sock yarn arrived! They are absolutely spectacular!

I’ll have better pictures. It was late and natural lighting is always better! Now to wash them, label them and get them on my website for sale. We started with shorties and will branch out into taller lengths. We have a combined logo and I can’t wait!

She also made a hat and fingerless mitts. And a special surprise for me! Thank you dear friend!!

My guess is that she made the card and keychain too. She can do ANYTHING and EVERYTHING!

I spent yesterday blowing snow, packing boxes that Jay will mail for me and getting ready for a little retreat with his sisters. We do it every year and it gives us a chance to get to catch up without husbands and kids. It’s a real treat and I will have more in that in the coming days. I appreciate that Jay is all for this and will mail my boxes for me. There are quite a few!

We ended the night with a delicious dinner to celebrate Jay’s birthday and Valentine’s Day belatedly with Jack and Madison. It was so much fun and we all agree that we need to make it a standing date mow that they are so near.

For now, I have to skedaddle!

Remember to wash your hands, don’t touch your face, stay home but if you MUST go out, wear a mask and keep the length of a full grown llama (which is bigger than an alpaca) between you and the next person.

Have a blessed day!
