Daily Reflections From My Window

February 6, Saturday

“When you arise in the morning, give thanks for the morning light, for your life and strength. Give thanks for your food, and the joy of living. If you see no reason for giving thanks, the fault lies with yourself.”

Tecumseh, Shawnee Chief.

Can you see it? The rays coming down from the clouds? I can’t capture it on my cell phone. If I focus too long, it kind of blurs it out. But trust me. This is one beautiful morning sky and I can hear God saying the verse in the picture-to ALL of us! That’s why I need to share with you every morning. I’m so blessed to be able to see this and I NEVER take it for granted.

I got my study materials today. I had gotten it on audible but it’s not the same as holding the book, reading the words and letting the message seep in. I got as far as the introduction this morning.

I got my #99 Walks bracelet yesterday. I walked my goal of I think it was 40 miles last month. This month my goal is 30. I can always change it. That’s what’s nice about it. There are teams you can join, classes you can take, and more. If you are looking for inspiration, Joyce is your girl. She started Macaroni Kid and I’m still a little disappointed in her for selling but fitness has always been her passion and as she said, her heart just wasn’t in MK anymore. She’s a serial entrepreneur but I hope she’s found her niche and won’t outgrow this one. She does a morning FBLive to motivate at 8 AM everyday but Saturday, and I really look forward to it. Check it out here.

Yesterday I ventured out to Walmart because I needed an extension cord and a few other things and if you turn the sound up, and listen very closely, you will hear the song Havana by Camilla Cabello. It was one of my favorite MacKid meetup experiences. Jay and I were in Cafe Du Monde in New Orleans and there was a young lady with her mother and boyfriend sitting behind us. Pretty soon, people kept trickling over to talk to her and asking for autographs. I had no idea who she was so I went over and asked. She laughed and said that she was a “kinda famous singer” and said her name. Which I didn’t recognize and couldn’t remember. Her mom said “don’t worry, I wouldn’t know who she was either if she wasn’t my daughter!” The boyfriend laughed through the whole encounter. I just told her that she reminded me of my sweet neighbor Alyse and that they were both beautiful and nice, and wished her continued success. I asked Jay to sneakily take a picture but he wouldn’t and then I remembered that he took a picture of me eating a donut and they were on the background. I had to show it to my fellow publishers at the MeetUp to figure out who she was. They played the song for me since I didn’t know it and it was funny from then on. Now when I hear it I stop and smile!

Here it is. The photo. Her mom was right behind my head. That meetup was one of many favorites and boy did this post get off track today.

I signed up for a seed starting seminar online at ten, then our grand dog is coming over at 2 and then who knows what? Walking maybe? We’ll see, but it looks like a beautiful day but cold! I had planned to do fiber work but that can wait. Connor, being a border collie mix, goes right for it. I have to put everything up. It’s interesting how he goes right for yarn, fiber, anything fiber related.

This all gets put away. I’m not sure that I can take him to my studio. It’s FILLED with raw fiber. Some day though.

I think today might be the day for a bloom! Maybe. It sure is making us wait.

That’s little Bea’s head poking up. I put some hay inside the barn since it was supposed to be so cold the next few days but they seem to prefer to be outside. They were built for cold weather, thank goodness. As for us-

Remember to wash your hands, don’t touch your face, stay home but if you MUST go out, wear a mask and keep the length of a full grown llama (which is bigger than an alpaca) between you and the next person.

Have a blessed day!
