Daily Reflections From My Window

“People demand freedom of speech as a compensation for the freedom of thought which they seldom use.”

Søren Kierkegaard.

The sun woke me up today. It popped up earlier than it has recently. What a welcome sight. It’s been too long without it. You can only take so much vitamin D to combat the gloom. Even the alpacas love it! Last night we spotted these deer in front. It’s been a while since we’ve seen anything there.

I spent yesterday out of the house almost the whole day doing errands and it was so nice. I went to the chiropractor, Conzatti’s, the Zebra Stand, TJ Maxx and then home. I ran into my friend Dawn at TJ and she was headed to Conzatti’s and I ended up going back with her to see what she liked. She shared her favorites and I found some other goodies.

We had a wonderful dinner last night from Conzatti’s of crab cakes, broccoli salad and a tortellini salad. Tried to watch Escape to the Chateau but it wouldn’t come in so we ended up watching Star Trek. I have to say again how interesting it is to watch these episodes as an adult. Some are ridiculous, but last night we watched 2 and they were both interesting. Full of philosophical conundrums that only Kirk with his common sense and Spock with his logic can figure out. The first one was about a virus that was killing ships full of people because it sucked them in and everything worked backwards. They had to figure out a way to kill it before it killed them. The second was about a planet that was peaceful and all of a sudden the Klingons show up and turns the people violent. For once I stayed awake during both. I love to watch the costumes though. Captain Kirk is usually bursting out of his clothes while everyone else has lots of room to move. It makes me chuckle. And then the women are always pretty much scantily clad. Because, you know, by 3000 or whatever year it’s supposed to be, we’ve come so far…Kirk DOES make an interesting reference to “the wars on the Asian continent of Earth in the 2020s”. Interesting.

I’m really trying to make sense of the crazy news. It almost seems like we’ve sold our souls to big tech. I’m working hard to get off of social media, but would really miss all of my fiber groups, friends and connections. I love when friends and family share photos and updates. I would really miss that.

This is pretty amusing.

If you want to continue to see what we’re up to here, you’ll have to subscribe because this is the last cross post I’m doing. I will definitely be going back to fiber chat. It’s what I do.

Remember to wash your hands, don’t touch your face, stay home but if you MUST go out, wear a mask and keep the length of a full grown llama (which is bigger than an alpaca) between you and the next person.

Have a blessed day! Enjoy the sun!
