“If I must start somewhere, right here and now is the best place imaginable.”
Richelle E. Goodrich
Happy New Year! Happy first day of 2021! How are you spending it?
How did you spend last night? Or yesterday? I got my hair cut, colored and coiffed and Ivana is so skilled that I always walk out of there feeling like a million bucks so I did what anyone would do and spent part of the day delivering coconut water to subscribers in my area. Check out my Macaroni Kid FB page for more pictures. Here are the wonderful ladies at the salon obliging me!
Here are pictures of Lauren and I, the amazingly cute pug slipper socks she surprised me with, and an interesting collection of mushrooms growing on her tree. I’ve been watching them since they were tiny. I wish I could identify mushrooms because they are beauties.
Then on to more things. I got this bee in my bonnet that I had to clean the house. I had to get rid of the grit of 2020. I still need to do a few rooms, but got the big chunks so to speak. Throughout the day I decided to call family and friends and catch up.
Jay was working on fixing the overhead fluorescent light fixture in our Y2K closet. When we talked to our friends Brian and Tammy later in the evening and Jay was telling Brian about it, Brian asked, “How many trips to the hardware store did it take?” We all laughed because that is so true! It took a few but Jay did it and now perhaps I’ll clean it out since there is now light.
We had a wonderful evening, catching up with old friends and making plans for the coming year. We talked to Jack and Madison and actually made it to midnight to call them again! It was not a typical New Years celebration but the fact that we were able to do it was a milestone and one I fully appreciate. We ate pork, sauerkraut and lentils just to be on the safe side and will have them today, made new. It was delicious!
We watched our first Virtual Celebration Johnstown organized by the amazing Lauren Lazzari!
You can catch it here. https://fb.watch/2L030Jkswp/
Talking to Rick and Barb at Studio 64 (his office by day, disco by night) via Zoom. Watching the ball drop with very few in attendance in NYC. Will they come back next year?
So if we didn’t talk to you last night, we will try again today. You may not have answered our call. You may have been busy! Imagine that!
I wish you all a Blessed 2021 and can’t wait till we can be in person. I have to tell you though that my goal for 2021 is to get off FB especially. I love all of the groups I belong to and the opportunity it affords for learning. I would miss that so it will be hard. Please, if you haven’t already, sign up to get my morning post via email and never miss a day.
Love to you all.
Remember to wash your hands, don’t touch your face, stay home but if you MUST go out, wear a mask and keep the length of a full grown llama (which is bigger than an alpaca) between you and the next person.
Have a blessed day!
